'Vintage-Inspired' Engagement Ring Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner Gifted Theresa Nist
Theresa Nist received an engagement ring from Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner that is appropriate for their mythical romance.
In Thursday's season finale, the first Golden Bachelor of the franchise made a proposal to the second love of his life. Nist, 70, enthusiastically accepted the 72-year-old widower. Turner proposed to his fiancée by putting on a stunning Neil Lane ring, which highlighted the amazing journey they had taken to find love again after losing their spouses.
"Its symbolism is really significant," Turner exclusively tells PEOPLE. "It was like, 'Oh my god, this is that joyful happiness that I want to feel, that I want everyone to feel,' the moment she put it on again."
In the Golden Bachelor finale, Gerry Turner proposes to his fellow finalist, leaving him feeling "blindsided."
Turner selected a princess cut diamond ring that was further set with 128 tiny round brilliant cut diamonds for a total weight of 3.15 carats, accentuated by two baguette cut diamonds. Lane, who made and signed the ring by hand, told PEOPLE why creating this particular ring felt so different from creating engagement rings for previous Bachelor nation winners.
